I have bought the pattern and cut it out already exactly like the pattern i pinned the pattern onto the fabric..
I’m using mccall’s costume pattern as a guide… but i’m mixing and matching patterns with other pieces like a simply apron pattern for the apron..
i also wanted to attach a peterpan collar that i dont have a pattern for..
should i double layer it?? the skirt I plan to double layer for sure.. but I’m not sure if I should with the top.. since it seems very complicated..
the sleeves also seem very complicated..
to make the costume fit me I’m petite.. i used a child’s skirt pattern, an adult small top pattern, the child’s sleeve pattern.. (with the dress)
and with the apron I used an adult small bib, with a child’s large bottom part. (so as u can see I’m mixing and matching)
I planned to start by maybe doing a an ‘oversewing/basting’ stich on the raw edges of the patterns/ everythingg, with the double layer skirt I planned to sew the two pieces together with this method and maybe another stitch like running stitch.
Is this possible to stitch the two layers together before doing anything else???
