I only know basic sewing,but I bought McCall’s costume pattern[s] M4948 (http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M4948.html) from Walmart 3 days ago [..knowing it would be a hard pattern to do =/ ] I haven’t really done anything yet & I have a couple questions..
1- I was wondering if anyone else has done this pattern/dress?
2- What does "center front on fold" mean? [could you show me a pic or something?..]
3- Do I really have to wash my fabric before I do anything? [b/c I've actually already cut out 3 peices..]
and…yeah..

I really wanna be Alice for halloween but I don’t want a slutty costume or a costume that’s not made very well.

i want to be one of those for halloween.
i’m 13 and all the mad hatter and queen of hearts costumes are ‘revealing’ costumes made for like 17 year olds, but the kid ones too kiddish for my tastes.
SO i really want to make a costume by myself.
but not sewing it or anything just buying things to make up the costume.

Okay hi. :]
So, for Halloween I want to be the Mad Hatter. (Yes, I’m a girl. I want to be original.)
I don’t want to buy my costume, because those are all dresses… and none of them actually look like the Mad Hatter’s costume.
So, I want to spice mine up.
I was thinking a teal button-up blouse with the collar up. That I already have.
On top of that I would wear a yellow coat, but not button that one up.
Then I’m not sure what color pants to wear. >.<
& Of course, a light blue bow-tie.
OH ! And a hat, obviously.
So, could anyone help me find those things ? (The coat, what color pants and where to buy them, the light-blue bow tie, and the hat ?)
